Jersey Fire Chili !!!!Sweet – Heat AWARD WINNING!!

Well here it is, I finally am giving up my Award Winning Chili Recipe (yes, I did win awards for this!) This is a sweet heat kinda chili. I hope you all enjoy my Chili!


  • 4 lbs of 90/10 ground beef
  • 2 jalapeno peppers
  • 4 frying peppers (bell peppers red and yellow will do just fine)
  • 1 large sweet onion
  • 3 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1/2 cup of chili spices
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon allspice
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 4 tablespoon cumin
  • 4 tablespoon chili powder
  • 3 tablespoon honey
  • 1/4  cup molasses
  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar
  • 1 can great northern beans
  • 1 teaspoon garlic paste
  • 20 ounce of Honey Brown Beer
  • 8 ounce can of tomato sauce


Get a large pot out and  heat up the olive oil. Take the peppers and the onion and put it into a food processor pulse until smooth.  If you like your chili chunky then only pulse a few times to get it into bite size pieces.  Add this to the pot,  I do this to get the rawness out of the veggies.  I then take all the spices, sugar, molasses and honey and add it to the veggie mixture.  Let cook for about 5 minutes on medium heat. Take the ground beef add it to the mixture.  I then take the beer and the tomato sauce and add that in, let it start to simmer and turn on low, chop up the ground beef as you are stirring the mixture.  I then add the beans and leave it alone for a good hour.  This is good straight out of the pot but even better if you let it sit for a day (in the fridge of course).  I serve it with white cheddar cheese and chopped raw onions.

This is my go to on a nice fall day!  Enjoy this… I know many of you have already tried it during competition so now you can do it yourself.
